ShetkaStone
ShetkaStone surfaces are beautiful, durable, versatile, and environmentally friendly. Our products use 100 percent post-consumer and post-industrial recycled fibers, including cardboard, newsprint, retired U.S. currency, and other paper. The product’s total recycled content varies from 55 percent to 80 percent, depending on the color chosen and the materials utilized. To supplement the natural binding properties of paper, we use plastic polyester. Because ShetkaStone is made primarily from paper fibers, it also requires a topical sealant. A variety of finishes are available. The one we typically use is a zero VOC finish that contains no formaldehyde.
In addition to being made from recycled material, ShetkaStone is also itself recyclable—many years from now when your surface reaches the end of its life cycle, you can return it to be recycled and incorporated into a new ShetkaStone product. This cradle-to-cradle approach to design and manufacturing is what makes ShetkaStone one of the most sustainable products available, the perfect choice for a variety of commercial, institutional, and residential applications.
